All members are from Cobar in Outback NSW Australia.

The origin of the name - Burnt Earth is Aboriginal for Cobar: meaning Earth Burnt.

The band

Burnt Earth travelled extensively throughout Australia doing supports, backing, Festivals, B&S Balls, Clubs and Pubs supporting such artists as SHANNON NOLL, LEE KERNAGHAN, DRAGON, RED GUM, GOANNA, PHIL EMMANUEL, RADIATORS, COL ELLIOTT to name a few.

In 2012, Burnt Earth appeared on the Channel 10 Television Series I Will Survive with the band backing the contestants in the rock segment of the show and also facilitating a workshop with Dave Gleeson from the SCREAMING JETS on how to perform as a Rock God.

Throughout the 90s, Burnt Earth won the battle of the bands (Both Country and rock sections), songwriting competitions, awards in Tamworth Country Music Festival. In 1996, they took out CCMA "BestGroup" and "Entertainer of the Year", cementing Burnt Earth as the party band throughout the Outback for many years to come.

Burnt Earth became known as the country band that plays AC/DC because of their hard-hitting Country and Solid Rock portrayed in their original songs and covers. The band went from Country to Rock and back again to engage the audience. This is how Pure Australian Bushmetal was born.

The new genre Bushmetal was founded by Burnt Earth Band in 1996.

Burnt Earth is a dynamic five-piece rock band hailing from the rugged landscapes of Cobar, New South Wales, Australia. Born amidst the arid beauty of the Outback, Burnt Earth draws inspiration from the raw power of nature and the resilience of the human spirit.

Formed by childhood friends and musical kindred spirits, Burnt Earth emerged as pioneers of a new genre they proudly call Bush Metal, Infusing traditional metal elements with the untamed spirit of the Australian bush, their sound is a sonic journey through the rugged terrain of their homeland.

Lead vocalist and lyricist, Shane Josephson (Joso) delivers soul-stirring vocals that echo the harsh realities of Outback life, while lead guitarist Jamie Sloan (Jimy) unleashes blistering riffs that evoke the fiery intensity of the sun-soaked land. Keys strings brass the master of fills Isa Zilic he has it all to light up the stage and sound. With Bassist Jason (moon dog) Arnold and drummer Ben (Hot legs) Houlihan provide the thunderous backbone of the band, driving the rhythm with primal force and precision.
